Omnitech, Inc. Joins Ascent Innovation

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Ascent Innovation, Rapid City’s Innovation Center located on the SD Mines Campus, welcomes their newest tenant to the community. Omnitech is a software engineering firm headquartered in Sioux Falls, SD and is looking to make an impact in Rapid City.

Omnitech began in 1998 and is committed to providing a local option for high-end custom software solutions throughout the Midwest. With a commitment to building partnerships with local businesses and building long-term relationships with clients, Omnitech seeks to build an environment that inspires and encourages local talent to pursue careers in South Dakota.  Expanding to Rapid City allows greater options for SD Mines students to grow careers in their own community.

“We really wanted a location that gave our interns a place to work that was convenient to the SDSM&T campus. Having an office at the Ascent Center gives us that ease of access and makes it easier to be involved with the university,” said Jeremy Warner, an engineer at Omnitech’s Rapid City office.

Omnitech has shown over their 20 years in business, they are able to evolve along with their clients’ needs. In 2016, they became a Microsoft Gold Partner in Data Platforms, Application Development, and Data Analytics allowing them to deliver leading edge technology and innovation. The Rapid City location is currently made up of one full-time employee and two interns with plans to grow in the very-near future.

The greatest thing Warner and his team are looking forward to is “the engineering community here at the center is great, and we’re looking forward to being a part of the greater Rapid City technology community.”

With goals to grow a community valuing technologic excellence and provide local jobs for our city, Omnitech stands to be a great addition to Ascent Innovation and the Rapid City community. “We look forward to the growth of this South Dakota company west river, as well as the opportunities it stands to provide local students and businesses throughout Rapid City,” said Terri Haverly, Executive Director at Ascent Innovation.
